The App Operator of the Cloud Component is selectable

The App User can choose between App Operators for the Cloud Component

The App requires a Cloud Component, and the App User can choose from several options, operated by different entities.

Examples:

• Productivity platform Nextcloud and its mobile apps

Advantages:

• creates checks and balances between App Operators who all operate similar Cloud Components;
• App Users can select an App Operator who they trust;
• it is easier to understand about where and when personal data is leaves the App User’s smartphone.

Disadvantages/risks:

• more complex organizationally;
• for many use cases, this may require an Architecture with Federation.
