Backup

The copying of data for the purpose of being able to restore the original when a data loss event occurs.

In this context, we consider:

backups created by App Users of their mobile devices to enable them to recover if the mobile device is lost or stolen; they generally back up data managed by Smartphone Components;
backups created by App Operators of their cloud servers to enable them to recover if the cloud server had a data loss event; they generally back up data managed by Cloud Components.
